Boomerangs as Functional Art

Traditional Australian Aboriginal boomerangs have long been treasured as cultural artifacts and collectible works of art. Over the past several decades, modern returning boomerangs have evolved into highly refined examples of craftsmanship, combining aerodynamic performance with artistic expression.

The finest custom boomerangs are often seen at international tournaments, where skilled makers showcase techniques and materials far beyond those used for mass-produced plywood models. Because of the time, precision, and craftsmanship involved, these handmade pieces are rarely priced to reflect the true value of the maker’s work.

BoomerangMan is proud to support and promote outstanding artisans like Michal Vejlupek by offering these exceptional handcrafted boomerangs to collectors, throwers, and anyone who appreciates functional works of art.

For display. For throwing. For a lifetime of enjoyment.

About the Maker

Michal Vejlupek is an active boomerang thrower and craftsman since 2006. His achievements include a third-place finish in the Long Distance event at the 2010 World Boomerang Championships in Rome.

Over the years he has handcrafted hundreds of boomerangs for friends, collectors, and competitive throwers. Today, he specializes in premium hardwood boomerangs reinforced with carbon-fiber composite materials originally developed for high-end applications such as musical instruments, luxury automobile interiors, and custom knife handles.

Rather than covering the natural beauty of the wood with paint, each boomerang receives only a smooth satin varnish that highlights the unique grain and character. His work has attracted attention from filmmakers, artists, collectors, and enthusiasts around the world.of each boomerang.

Michal produces only 25–30 natural hardwood/carbon-backed art boomerangs each year, making every piece a rare, limited creation. Every boomerang is personally flight-tested and certified before delivery.

July 2026. Michal’s recent International Award.Craftsmanship, Aesthetics Award during World Boomerang Championship in Bandung, Indonesia.
